Kalie Reid

Hello! Nice to meet you.

My name is Kalie! My romantic fantasy debut THE SACRED SPACE BETWEEN will be out November, 2025 with Harper Voyager UK and Little, Brown in the US/Canada. I’m represented by Maddy Belton at Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency.

I’ve been story-obsessed since I learned how to read and I haven’t looked back since. Books have been my favourite and most constant companion and I’m a big believer that they’re the #1 best way to feel a little less alone in the world.

I grew up just outside Portland, Oregon in the Pacific Northwest, a place best known for the rain and incredible coffee. After I finished high school I moved across the world to Northern Ireland where I completed a degree in English Literature & History from Queen’s University in Belfast. If you’re wondering what kind of person gets excited about visiting Britain’s National Archives for dissertation research, that would be me.

Currently, I live in Belfast with my cat Dorothy and husband Gregg and work as a wedding photographer. I can usually be found at a local coffee shop or wandering around in the woods.

Thanks for reading!

THE SACRED SPACE BETWEEN - adult romantic fantasy

A devout iconographer must paint an exiled saint in this sumptuous gothic romantasy full of slow-burn tension and windswept moors, for fans of DIVINE RIVALS and A STUDY IN DROWNING

'Nothing less than blasphemy brought you to me,' Jude told her. Maeve trembled. He was an open flame. Any closer, and she’d burn.

Jude is a saint with dangerous magic – exiled by the Abbey to live out his days in a decaying estate on the moors alone – until gifted iconographer Maeve is sent to paint his icon. Suspecting she’s a spy for her beloved Abbey, Jude makes it his mission to get rid of Maeve as soon as possible. That is until he discovers that Maeve holds the same tainted magic as he does, and she may be the key to destroying the Abbey’s power…

But this institution has eyes everywhere, and the only thing the Abbey loves more than a saint is a martyr.
